About the Presenter:
Dulce M. Cruz-Oliver, MD, is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Geriatrics at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She is board certified in internal, palliative and geriatric medicine. Dr. Cruz’s teaching and research interests are focused on palliative and end-of-life care in Latino elders. She was co-principal investigator in ongoing research work on validation of the Veterans Affair Saint Louis University Mental Status exam at St. Louis; and is the principal investigator in a multi-center educational module for caregivers of Latino elders at end of life. Dr. Cruz was a former recipient of a Geriatric Academic Career Award from the Heath Resources and Services Administration to develop herself as a Geriatrics educator and researcher. And now is a Sojourns Scholar Awardee from the Cambia Health Foundation to start the very first Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship program and create a Supportive Care Clinic at SSM SLUH.
